One of Randon companies, Fras-le won an Award in the Market Diversification category
Randon Companies` vocation to export and their continuous efforts to gain new markets through the expansion of their Distribution channels have earned them the RS Export Award in the category Market Diversification. The winner was one of Randon Group`s companies – Fras-le S.A., a leading manufacturer of friction materials. The company has given important steps in its internationalization process. As of 2008, the company has two units abroad: Fras-le Alabama, in the United States, and Fras-le Asia, in Pinghu, China. In 2009, Randon Companies exported a total of R$ 164 million and Fras-le accounted for half of the foreign trade of Randon Companies, with US$ 81 million in foreign sales. The projection of Randon Companies for this year is to reach US$ 190 million.
The Companies that integrate Randon Group have prominently been among the winners of the RS Export Prize over its history. The award recognizes companies for their best marketing results and for developing innovative strategies while exhibiting and selling their products in international markets. According to the corporate and investor relations director of Randon Companies, Astor Milton Schmitt, who is also the vice chairman of the Board of Directors of Fras-le (the winner of the award), although Randon is a company founded to operate primarily in the domestic market, it has crossed the national borders over 30 years ago and has reaped good results that have made it the leading company in its respective segments.
Also present at the awarding ceremony in the evening of Monday, June 21, at Teatro do Bourbon Country, in Porto Alegre, were the president of Fras-le, Daniel Randon, and directors and other representatives of Randon Companies such as Norberto Fabris, Rogério Luiz Ragazzon, Sergio Onzi, Joarez Piccinini, Gelson Adami and Miguel Santos. The event included a lecture by the President of Banco Central, Henrique Meirelles.
